On first boot n8n is pulled from its official source and started; you create your admin account with a setup link made for you.

03Guide

Your automations on your own server

A few minutes after your server starts, n8n is ready at its own address with an SSL certificate. There is no limit on workflows or executions; the limit is your plan's CPU, memory and disk. The whole server is yours: with root access you can install other software too.

How your server is prepared

  • Once payment is confirmed the VDS is set up automatically; your root password arrives by e-mail
  • On first boot n8n is pulled from n8n's official source and started with Docker, connected to a PostgreSQL database
  • Your server gets an address like 176-96-128-X.hanhosting.net and a Let's Encrypt certificate automatically
  • When you connect over SSH, a personal setup link is shown on screen (and in /root/n8n-bilgileri.txt)
  • Open the setup link in your browser and create your n8n owner account with your e-mail and password. For security, the owner account can only be created through this link; afterwards you sign in at your normal address

What is included?

n8n, PostgreSQL and Caddy (HTTPS) run as Docker containers; the settings are in /opt/hh-n8n. External services can call your webhook and form addresses directly. To use your own domain, point its A record to your server's IP address and run n8n-alanadi n8n.example.com; the certificate renews automatically.

Ready-made commands: n8n-durum (address, setup link and container status), n8n-guncelle (updates n8n and the helper software), n8n-alanadi (changes the domain). After the initial setup, updates, configuration and security are your responsibility.

Backups are not included. Your n8n data lives in Docker volumes on the server; for regular backups you can add the Backup Storage add-on when ordering, or use your own method.

About the license

n8n is developed by n8n GmbH and is subject to its own license (Sustainable Use License). Under it you may run n8n on your own server for your own business and personal projects, and charge your clients for building and maintaining workflows. Offering n8n as a service where your customers build their own workflows requires a separate commercial license. Details: n8n license FAQ.

About n8n Server

Are n8n's paid (Enterprise) features included?
No. The server runs the n8n community edition. Enterprise features that ask for a license key need a separate license from n8n.
How do I update n8n?
Connect over SSH and run n8n-guncelle. We recommend taking a backup before updating.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Point the A record of your domain (or a subdomain) to your server's IP address, then run n8n-alanadi n8n.example.com. When the address changes, n8n's webhook addresses change too.
Can I install other software?
Yes, you have root access. Ports 80 and 443 are used by Caddy in front of n8n; another web service needs a different port or a Caddy configuration.
Can I upgrade my plan?
Yes. You can move to a higher n8n plan from the client area; the difference is invoiced. The server restarts briefly during the upgrade; the extra disk space is added to the root partition automatically at boot.
Is there a refund?
Services are set up automatically once payment is confirmed, so there is no refund. We recommend starting with monthly billing; if you cancel from the panel before the renewal date, the next period is not charged.
